In order to exchange experiences and knowledge about environmentally friendly agriculture, the Petrovic Njegos Foundation and the Centre for Protection and Research of Birds will organize a study visit to Slovenia for farmers who are engaged in organic production.
After the call for participation in the study visit, which was published in May, four young Montenegrin farmers who own an arable land and have begun an organic production were selected. From 29 June to 4 July they will visit Slovenian households, become familiar with their work, as well as with the differences between various sub-types of environmentally friendly agriculture: eco, bio-dynamic and permaculture production.
The six-day program includes a tour of the biodynamic household BIOKOR Černec and permaculture garden Jozica Fabjan (Videm – Dobrepolje), a visit to the household for growing organic seeds “Amaranth” (Kresnice) and ecological farm ” Ekološka kmetija Kokalj”, a visit to the association for organic agriculture “Ajda” (Vrzdenec), organic dairy ” Mlekarna Krepko” (Logatec) and the company “Endovital” (Koper) and, finally, a tour of the farm of lipizzaners (Sežana).
In addition to the exchange of knowledge and experience, the aim of the visit is to encourage young people in Montenegro to work to improve the organic agriculture and the quality of organic agriculture products.
