Assistance to people struck with floods: Project "Holidays in Montenegro for thirty children from Kraljevo"

Since the first days of the disastrous floods that struck Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, the Petrovic Njegos Foudnation has been involved, to the extent possible, in the solidarity and humanitarian actions initiated in Montenegro.

Through the Serbian Embassy in Podgorica, in order to assist the victims of floods, the Foundation donated EUR 5,000 to the Red Cross.

Project “Holidays in Montenegro for 30 children from Kraljevo”

This summer, in cooperation with the elementary school from Kraljevo the Foundation organized a seven-day summer vacation for thirty pupils. Children were accommodated in Hotel Grand in Cetinje, while the planned activities included numerous educational and recreational workshops. Four excursions were organized and the children enjoyed the company of their peers from Cetinje, whose parents did not had sufficient funds to send them for a vacation. Many other activities were planned together with the peers from Cetinje, such as swimming classes.

The sponsorship campaign was initiated and various embassies in Montenegro were invited to participate,to help cover costs of travel and accommodation.

Transportation companies “BLT” from Podgorica and “Lasta” from Serbia, Adventure park “Ivanova korita”, Museums of Prijestonica, National Park Skadar Lake, “SDI company” from Jaz, “Air” Restaurant from Becici, Budva TV, they all participated generously in this action.
