The Foundation supported the International Festival of Short Stories ‘Where I’m Calling From’, organized by the Karver Bookstore in Podgorica in late June. This was the fifth international festival of short stories, where the works by some thirty authors from Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey were presented.
The Foundation initiated the establishment of a francophone club in Cetinje, named “Frederic Rossif” in memory of a French filmmaker born in Cetinje. The club is located in the building of the former French Embassy, which today houses the archives of the National Library of Montenegro.
Conference “Choosing a Sustainable Future: Learning from experiences – Eco-village at Ithaca (USA)” was held on 16 June 2013 in Cetinje, with the support of the US Embassy in Montenegro and the Old Capital Cetinje. The conference is part of the architectural and urban workshop “Bajice or city in the field”, which for the second year in a row the Petrovic Njegos Foundation is organizing in order to valorize and foster the sustainable development of Bajice.
At the occasion of the Independence Day in Montenegro, in 2013, the Foundation organized a big humanitarian concert in Paris. The money from the tickets for the concert was collected to finance the program of early carcinoma detection, donated to the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
SUPPORT TO THE CYCLING CLUB “PERUN”: In 2012, the Foundation has supported the activities of the Cycling club “Perun” from Nikšić, in terms of promoting cycling in Montenegrin society. In 2013, we also supported promotion activities of the club “Perun”.
